BUILDING MY INUKSUK
Privacy schmivacy! The great debate carries on ad infinitum.
Even David Letterman last nite on the Late Show talked about our perpetual rant about not wanting government to have increased access to our privacy, yet, he continued, many are foregoing their privacy freely … da da da, wait for it, the punchline … “It is called Facebook.”
He has a point. But it is our choice. It is not imposed on us. And I think a large part of putting everything out there, is the impersonal time we live in. Gone are nuclear families living together, or next door to one another, and around the corner from grandparents, aunts, uncles cousins. Now families are often separated and living hither and yon. That changes you.
For me, I have come to realize, it is another thing entirely. Like our indigenous Northern people, I am building my own e-Inuksuk which will tell others, long after I am gone, “I too was here.”
